Yo! Yogurt

I am an avid buyer of Yo-Yo yogurt!!! I just love it. Its creaminess, the slight sourness blends just right to my palate. My officemates and I went to this Yo-Yo yogurt place and this is my own combo mix! I usually have mine in white choocolate drops or milk chocolate drops or fresh strawberries with caramel syrup.

This mix of toppings is a first for me and I'm sure it will be my personal favorite :D

thai (inpired) mango salad

Yesterday, I passed through this street vendor selling hilaw na mangga or green mangoes. I bought a few pieces and thought of making a salad like what I've tried in a thai restaurants: Thai me up and Siam. I searched through the web for recipes and how-to videos in youtube.

I didn't get to find one in particular so I noted the ingredients and bought it at the local market. It's safe to say that I experimented. I could not point out the exact measurements of the liquid ingredients since I was tasting it and just adjusted everything accordingly.

the ingredients (photo searched via google) L-R: green mango, lime, fish sauce
hot pepper, red onion, cooked shrimp
nuts, brown sugar and water
oppss... not in photo: salt and vinegar (optional depending on your taste)

And the outcome? tadad!!! *I think I bought big sized shrimp though. The original recipe required dried shrimps but I would not go with it. haha...

The cost?
5 pieces green mango: 25.00 pesos
200 grams shrimp: 52.00 pesos
hot pepper: 2.00 pesos
onion: 3.00 pesos
lime: 5.00 pesos
nuts: 10.00 pesos
everything else is found at home. haha.

I spent 97.00 pesos for this. not bad since I've made more than a serving of order at the restaurants whose price is around 150.00 to 200.00 pesos an order :)

Bon appetite!

Sinful Cravings: Paired with Vinegar ♥

I'm supposed to be doing my laundry today but here I am blogging away. Fret not 'coz my pile of laundry is taken care of by the machine. Anyway, this entry is not about laundry or clothes but about food. Not about the usual food served at the restaurant but the simplest food I like to eat paired with vinegar!!!

As much as junk food is bad for one's health, it's one sinful food that I have a hard time staying away from. Two out of three food best paired with vinegar in in this category. I ♥ Jack 'n Jill Taquitos and Safari corn bits with vinegar. Weird, right? I just love how the salt blend in with the sourness of vinegar.

Ans what else is best with vinegar? Hilaw na Mangga *Green Mango* with Bagoong *Shrimp Paste*. Yum yum. Makes my mouth water. haha! Hilaw na mangga is already sour but with vinegar and a pinch of salt , its much better.

Say, what are your sinful cravings with vinegar?

how sweet it is

... to be given some chocolates. Thank you, TJGS...

Every girl, I believe, loves chocolates. I prefer dark and white chocolates over milk chocolates. I like it plain than with caramel or nuts. On my low days, I would reward myself with some Goya dark chocolates for instant boost. Ferrero Rocher is love. My dad used to bring this to me whenever he comes home from a trip.

What's your favorite chocolate?

Pacham Crab in Coconut Milk

Hey guys, remember the box of crustaceans given to me after the trip to Surigao? I have 4 live crabs in possession and early today, I gave 2 to my dear father and lola. :) One was sooo big I just had to photograph myself with it...

And since I was not satisfied I had one shot all zoomed out... haha...

After I got home, I researched how to cook it... and even if I managed to see some information, I somehow neglected to follow the procedure step by step. haha. Thankfully my crab in coconut milk was edible. haha. (*note: the one I cooked were smaller in size*)
